Smoothie Recipes For Weight Loss

The Smoothie Diet is toughed by magazines as being used by celebrities such as Jessica Simpson, to make people think “oh they look thin, I can too with the smoothie diet”, but as with the juice diet does it really help you lose weight?

The truth is Yes it does, but only when combined with a sensible diet and exercise.

As with the Juice Diet post (Read it if you haven’t already as it covers the 7 simple rules to use with a diet like this)  the fruits and vegetable used, contain vitamins such as vitamin C, amino acids etc which can help enhanced metabolism and limiting fat accumulation.

#1 – Pear Muskmelon Green Smoothie Recipe with Strawberry and Lettuce

This is a great reciepe becasue it is full of antioxidants, folate, vitamin B1 – B6, vitamin K, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.

Ingredients:
1 pear, cored
2 cups mellons
1 small lettuce
1 medium carrot, chopped
1 cup whole strawberries (fresh or frozen)
300ml Water

How To:
1) Put the water and fruit in the blender
2) Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.

#2 – Pummelo-Mango Green Smoothie Recipe with Avocado

This is another great recipe full of antioxidants, folate, vitamin B1 – B6, vitamin E, vitamin K, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.

Ingredients:
1 pummelo, peeled and deseeded
1 mango, peeled and pitted
1/4 avocado (without skin and pit)
1 head red leaf lettuce
300ml water

How To:
1) Put the water and fruit in the blender
2) Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.

#3 – Chocolate-kiwi Green Smoothie Recipe with Mint Tea

This is another great recipe full of antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids,actinidin, folate, vitamin B1 – B6, vitamin K, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.

It is more of a “energy smoothie” because it contains cacao.

Ingredients:
3 organic kiwifruit, with skin
1 tablespoon cacao powder
2 small bananas, peeled
2 cups fresh baby spinach
300ml chilled mint tea

How To:
1) Put the mint tea and fruit in the blender
2) Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
